I am looking for some advice on this menpo which has a tetsu sabiji finish and signed Masatsugu. Overall I like the look of it but my question is regarding the crease/seam that can be seen running down the middle of the nose.
I haven't seen this effect before and would really like to know whether it is a flaw, poor finish or whether it is intentionally styled this way. Have any of you guys any knowledge/experience of this feature?
Hi Andy, raking trough some of my books ("Watanabe" vol. 1 and "Katchu men") I found several menpo with such a " nose ridge". Looks not that uncommon. Although, I can't say if it is a special neo-feature?!
Hi Uwe, thanks for the reply. I did look through Katchu men and think I saw a possible one but it is so difficult - if the mask is viewed straight on from the front you don't see the "crease". It just appears so prominent in this image. I must admit I did look through Watanabe a while ago and couldn't see an example but I will look again. Thanks, Andy
